Today is our hand in day.
I have completed my multimedia project. Me and Joe Shishani created a flash file which was made up of various pictures and buttons to make it move between each picture.
Joe delt with the flash animation side while I gathered the pictures and organised what had to go were.
While I was collecting the pictures Joe was making the buttons for each picture. This took time as we wasnt sure how to create one. Paul was able to guide us when it came to making the button. Flash is quite a complicated software to use.
Once I had collected all the pictures I then resized them in Photoshop so when it came to putting them into flash they were the right size and it was easier and quicker to make the flash animation.
Joe was able to make buttons for each of the headings, so when u clicked on each heading a different picture would show up.
I then had to put a music file on top of it so when it was animating the music would play in the background.
I exported a music file into the libary and then made a new layer in flash and placed the file on top of it. I then saved the whole animation and saved it onto the desktop and on a disc.
Once the CD had burned I then re-opended the flash file into safari so it looked like a wesite animation. It was successful and the music played in teh background as well.
I enjoyed this multimedia project because it is something I have never worked on before.

This was our self-directed study week. During this week I looked at verious video on the interent to try and get ideas on what to do for my multimedia project.
I will be working with Joe Shishani on this project as I think working as a pair makes it more enjoyable and also it is great when it comes to idea planning, because we could get the work done quicker.
We agreed to do a flash animation that had buttons and a continuos song play throughout the movie.
I also worked through my research for my essay to try and get a more indepth understanding about Semiotics. I have started but yet to finish, I still need to add more comparison work into it.

This week Nigel gave us our last lecture on semiotics. It was all about what signs come out of an image. How we portray certain things.
I enjoyed this lecture because it was understanding. Also Nigel went through what we had to do for our essay and made me understand how we could go about writing it.

This afternoon we watched a video called Blade Runner. This film was based in the future and was very sci-fi.
The film was very peculiar. I dont think I have seen a film like it before. I really got into because the story line was very interesting.

Today we Nigel gave us a lecture on semiotics and went through what linguistic, iconic and non coded iconic meant. I understand a lot more about semiotics. These lectures are very useful.
I also went to the libary and looked thorugh a book called the 'Basics of Semiotics' so I will be looking through that and hopefully I will be able to start my essay.
This afternoon Nigel showed us a video called Koyaanisqatsi it showed laods of differnt images from around America. There was no script which made the film seem a little weird.

Today we had a lecture on Semiotics. I'm finding it hard to take it in at the moment there is so much to it. I'm going to look through the notes that Nigel has given to us and try and understand what it is all about.
In the afternoon we watched a film called Pi. It was very indepth and interesting to watch.
It was all based on a man who could work out any mathmatical equation. For years he has been attempting to decode the numerical pattern of the stock market. Many people are after to him cause they want the code cause some feel that the code would unlock secrets to their holy texts and some feel the code is the answer to everything.
This film made me understand more about semiotics a little more easier.

Today we have had a lecture with Nigel on Semiotics it was quite useful because it made it a bit clearer to what semiotics is all about. After our lecture Nigel went onto our brief and how we should go about doing our essay.
I collected research on Semiotics as I dont fully understand what it is all about yet. This afternoon Nigel went through the brief on our multimedia module and took us through what had to be done.
